Shortlist This
Privacy Policy
How Shortlist This keeps your shopping analysis local, and what little the license service actually receives.
Effective date: August 25, 2026
Controller
Shortlist This is provided by Finnzon Oy, Business ID 2849466-3, c/o Jussi Hyvärinen, Ankkurinvarsi 17, 02320 Espoo, Finland.
Finnzon Oy is the data controller for the service. Data received through the extension is limited to license and billing data: anonymous installation identifiers, license entitlement status, customer email addresses used for billing and purchase restoration, and technical request metadata used for rate limiting and billing security. Website analytics data is described separately below.
Privacy contact: info@finnzon.com.
Overview
Shortlist This is a Chrome extension that filters and ranks the products visible on an Amazon search page. It processes the current Amazon search page and your structured filter settings locally in your browser.
The analysis is deterministic — explicit parsing and scoring rules, no AI — and it runs only after you click the analysis button on a page you intentionally opened.
The marketing website at shortlistthis.com uses Google Analytics 4, described below. The extension package itself contains no analytics of any kind.
What is not collected
The extension does not transmit Amazon search queries, product titles, ASINs, prices, shortlist contents, filter settings, or browsing history to anyone — including Finnzon.
It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, AI services, Amazon APIs, or affiliate-link rewriting. Product links are never modified.
It does not collect location, keystrokes, clipboard contents, payment card numbers, passwords, or authentication credentials.
Local storage
The extension stores your filter settings, trial usage, and license state in Chrome local storage on your device.
Trial usage is recorded as hashed search-session identifiers, so the trial record never contains your search text itself.
A saved billing email, if you provide one, is stored locally to prefill checkout and purchase restoration. It is sent to Finnzon only when you start checkout, restore a purchase, or validate a license.
License service and payments
For checkout, purchase restoration, and periodic license validation, the extension contacts the Finnzon license service and sends only the Shortlist This product code, a random extension installation identifier, and the email address you explicitly provide. No Amazon, shortlist, or filter data is ever included.
New purchases use Stripe Managed Payments on Stripe-hosted pages. Stripe acts as merchant of record and processes checkout, payment methods, billing, applicable indirect taxes, receipts, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and transaction support. Card and payment method details are entered on Stripe's pages, never in the extension. Purchases made before the change may remain under the original Stripe Payments arrangement.
Restoring a purchase to another installation requires a six-digit code sent to the billing email. Finnzon stores only a keyed digest of the code with its installation binding and expiry.
Permissions
The extension requests access only to Amazon.com and Amazon.de pages, Chrome local storage, and the Finnzon license endpoint origin.
It analyzes only product result cards already loaded on a search page you intentionally opened, and only after you click the analysis button. Nothing runs in the background, and no additional pages are ever opened or crawled.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Finnzon's use of information received from Chrome extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data accessed through extension permissions is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: filtering and ranking the products visible on the Amazon search page you choose, managing local settings, and handling license status.
Finnzon does not sell user data and does not transfer user data to advertising platforms or data brokers.
Website analytics
With your consent, the shortlistthis.com website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the public website is used. Google Analytics collects page views, session statistics, referrers, approximate location, and device and browser information.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_<measurement-id>, to distinguish users and sessions. IP addresses may be processed during collection to derive approximate location and route traffic before Google discards them from Analytics logging.
The legal basis for this analytics processing is your consent. The Google Analytics tag does not load until you select Allow analytics. You can reject analytics without losing access to the website or extension, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer.
Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage. If you withdraw consent, the website disables further Analytics collection, removes the Analytics cookies it can access, and does not load the Google Analytics tag on future page loads unless you consent again.
This analytics runs only on the public website. It is not present in the Chrome extension, and it is never connected to what you search or shortlist on Amazon.
Retention
Local settings, trial state, and license state remain in Chrome storage until you remove the extension or clear extension data.
Finnzon retains license entitlement, billing, and technical audit data for as long as needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Website analytics data is retained according to the configured Google Analytics retention settings and only for as long as needed to understand public website usage.
Independence
Shortlist This is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.
Your controls
You can remove the extension or clear Chrome extension storage at any time to delete all locally stored settings, trial state, and license state.
You can reject or withdraw website analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer. You can also delete Analytics cookies and the saved consent choice through your browser settings.
You may contact Finnzon to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your billing data where applicable under data protection law.
